Melody's Close-up shot
Baby Melody

How did you enjoy seeing my alpaca friend, Melody? It is a long story about how I met Melody in a photography trip. Melody's 1st baby, Francis Junior, was born in July, 2008. If you are interested in knowing more about my alpaca friends, Melody and Francis Junior, please email me a note. I will update you when Melody's 2nd baby will be born in Fall, 2009!!

Did you know that alpacas were first imported from Peru, Bolivia, and Chile to the United States in 1983? White and near-white alpacas of high quality will continue to be in great demand due to their superior genetic structure and worldwide favor. Colored alpacas continue to grow due to their precious beauty and the demand for non-dyed natural fabrics by health-conscious Americans.

Alpaca fleece, also known as specialty fibers, are "stronger than mohair . . ." "finer than cashmere . . ." "smoother than silk . . ." "softer than cotton . . ." "warmer than goose down or the new synthetic fabrics like Gortex," and "breathes better than thermal knits."

Alpaca fiber is used for making knitted and woven items, such as blankets, sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves, a wide variety of textiles, sweaters, socks, coats, and bedding. Alpaca clothing is very healthy and comfortable to wear. Alpaca garments are both hypoallergenic and luxuriously soft due to the absence of lanolin and other oils in the fleece.

I hope that you will find many interesting and quality alpaca products useful to you, your family, and friends. Please feel free to call or email me for your inquiry.

Why buy Pima cotton clothing?

Peruvian Pima cotton is prized all around the world as a luxury fiber due to its silky soft feel and brilliant luster. The silky soft feel is a result of the excellent growing conditions in the northern coastal valleys of Peru where it is cultivated. Peruvian Pima cotton is harvested by hand, resulting in a brilliant white shade that can be easily dyed. Cotton harvested industrially leaves scratchy impurities, which affect smoothness and creates a yellowish color to the fiber. This fiber is classified as luxury because of its 1 3/8" length, ordinary cottons measure half to three quarters as much in length. This fabric can be easily machine washed (gentle) or dry cleaned, is practical and easy to maintain and will last through many years of use.
